About Arts! Oglethorpe

In 1994, a group of Oglethorpe County residents got together under the name Oglethorpe Community Theater to perform their first production, Meredith Willson’s The Music Man in the cafeteria of the Oglethorpe County High School.

By 1997, the group had officially incorporated as a non-profit entity, now called Arts! Oglethorpe (or Arts!O / A!O), and started performing in their new location, the historic Crawford School.

Over the years, Arts! Oglethorpe has offered a variety of performing arts events like musicals, plays, and live readings, and has put out literary publications and art shows.

Since its inception, Arts!O has been an all-volunteer organization. Hundreds of community members of all ages have participated in Arts! Oglethorpe-sponsored events, and thousands have come from around the state to attend.

Board of Directors

Arts! Oglethorpe is led by a group of volunteers that comprise its Board of Directors. We are always seeking more participation both on and off of the Board; visit our Volunteer page to find out how you can get involved.
